ARTWORK / INSPO

INSPIRATION

Seat of the Mind depicts our conscious awareness arising out of the generations that came before us. Here, our ancestors are represented in stone, spiraling downward in a DNA helix fashion. The statue emerges out of its frame, and so too our consciousness emerges out of the windows of our mind, experiencing our world, behind our eyes and slightly above the nose, at the Seat of the Mind. Below is 'A Divine Image' by William Blake, the visionary poet who has influenced generations of mystic and spiritual thought. Here he is describing both the beauty and terror of the human experience. The front design contains 'SAGE' in calligraphy, the word we use to refer to the SUMMONS x RAGE NATION collaborations. The calligraphy on the sleeve is a freestyle done by hand.

SUMMONS is a collection of spirits and energies crystallized into modern mixed media by Gerald C Fifield Jr. Both forward-facing and backward, SUMMONS draws from a wide variety of cultures, themes, and motifs with the intention of cultivating and communicating an identity for a universal human heritage.
